  1. school isnt over for like another 2-3 months. i have an organic chem exam the 27th so i should start studying for that now. i was thinking maybe i can take adderall only like 2 days a week and just study HARD those 2 days....
  2. hey guys. I am 22 years old and a college student. I am a biology major and plan on medical school. I have been taking adderall for a solid 4-5 years and have had enough. My grades have been good until i took organic chem and got a D in it even taking adderall. Adderall messes me up alot. I dont sleep, eat, socialize or even exercise. I really want to stop taking it but i keep reading peoples experience's about stopping it and they seem "out of it" for acouple weeks. My #1 problem is, I cant be "out of it" for school. Another problem is im scared to try going to school without it and not perform good. Does anyone have an suggestions or similar stories? Thanks
  3. Whats up everyone? I have come to the conclusion I need help and advice hopefully from people who have gone through this before. I am 22 years old and a biology major in college. I still have awhile until I graduate. I have been prescribed adderall for a solid 4 years now, and I have had enough! The only thing is, im afraid of is I will screw up in school if i stop it. I take it to study and go to class. I was thinking about maybe making a "adderall schedule" and taking it like 3 days a week instead of 5 and making those 3 days my "study days". Biology is a tough major and for a person will ADD like me, who cant pay attention to anything, makes it even tougher. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?! Its must appreciated!
  4. Hey Stanford. I feel like I am in your shoes and we are kind of going through the same situations. I am a pre med student so my undergrad work is very taxing. I take adderall about 5-6 days a week and i cant stand it, i want to quit very badly. I just feel like my grades will suffer if i quit and i dont know what to do!!!! I know this most likely does not help you but, your not going through this alone!!
  5. Your a strong man falcon. but your going to be fine when its all over. just remember to take care of yourself! my prayers are with you as well!
  6. Wow thanks falcon! Both of you have helped me out already! And im glad your doing good, keep it and keep me informed of your progress.
  7. Thanks man i appreciate that a lot. I have felt like it was only me that was having this same problem. Do you mind if I ask you.... What did you decide to do?
  8. Hey Guys, Ok so let me start by saying I am new on here, found this website by googling "how to stop being dependent on adderall". Before i start talking about my situation let me say I am a Biochemistry/biology major and want to go to either pharmacy school or medical school. I am a 22 year old male, I have been prescribed adderall since 3rd grade but never really took it consistently until college. I take anywhere from 45-60 mg a day but never over 60. (my old doctor retired and the new doctor in the same office doesnt really help, just writes the prescription)I only take it when i go to class (4 days a week) or when im studying for my classes (5-6 days a week), so i feel like im not addicted to it where I have the urge to take it everyday but I AM dependent on it for school and I think im ready for that to come to an end. I cant stand not eating and losing tons of weight (not to mention, i think taking it at such a young age stunt my growth, but thats too late to fix and besides the point). Like I said im 22 years old, im 5'5" and weight 130 pounds. I want to bulk up and put on weight and get into a good exercise/weight lifting routine, but that cant happen on adderall. My social life has turned upside down. Adderall totally changes my personality, i feel like it makes me kind of socially awkward, i want to experience college and meet new people and make new friends, but it seems like that cant happen on adderall. Now the problem is, since my major is hard and the pre reqs for my career path are difficult and require ALOT of studying, im scared that if i stop taking adderall my A's and B's will go to C's D's and F's. Does anyone have advice at all? i appreciate you reading this and responding. Thank you guys!
