Looking for Opinions

I posted about my husband over a year ago. I am hoping for some advice/opinions. He was supposed to get off stimulants in August 2024 but failed. He started weaning off them in November (2025). By March (2026) he said he was completely off his pills. There have been some calm periods throughout the months where he seemed more rational, more stable. We were attempting to work things out. We saw a marriage therapist briefly that wouldn't discuss his stimulant use but did want to send him for a comprehensive evaluation and to rule out Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD). She was hearing obsessive rumination, circling the drain on old grievances, etc. We never went back and he refused the eval.

I suspected he might have relapsed in May (2026), but I don't know for sure. In January of this year, he attempted to dismiss the entire divorce. My lawyer advised me not to and to file extensions until I was certain. He pushed the divorce forward in May. Since then, he has talked about reconciling multiple times. Things had been okay between us and relatively calm when he decided he wanted to take a hair follicle test last week to "clear his name." He did clear the test, which shows about 90 days clean. Pure insanity ensued a couple days after he took the drug test. He became enraged and messaged my father unsolicited, unprovoked very bizarre, hostile, and contemptuous messages that went on for hours. Then days later, restarted the conversation. These messages went well past midnight when he had work the next morning sedating patients. He kept bringing up old grievances from years ago, repeating himself incessantly, cursing, sending vulgar messages. This is exactly how he acted when he was actively taking them or coming down from them for the last several years. He basically became enraged because about 1.5 years ago my father said he was a drug addict. Things had been calm between them for a while but he thought my dad would change his tune on it and my dad responded basically saying I am happy you've been off 90 days. My husband lacks insight, accountability, and has very distorted views.

He was on high doses for 15 years, alternating between Adderall and Vyvanse throughout the years. The last dosing I saw in 2024 was 60 mg of Vyvanse. He would get extra from friends periodically and he's admitted to doubling up at times. He was binge drinking on them, taking them in the afternoon (up all night), and caffeine pills on top.

My questions are: 1) Does this sound like he cleared his test and possibly relapsed days later? 2) Is it possible he is still clean and hasn't fully recovered? This is residual side-effects? 3) Does this sound like something else is going on and I am wrong about the stimulants?

I know what I have seen and dealt with isn't normal. I know his personality has massively shifted, but I wonder at times if he has an undiagnosed mental illness.
