Popular Post JustinW
I made it through the spring semester and I am in my second week of the summer semester. Let me say that trying to learn and apply new concepts post adderall is TOUGH. The process of taking adderall and quitting adderall has stolen my ability to process new things and it really pisses me off. I am keeping my nose to the grindstone; I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
BeHereNow
Congrats on getting through this and persevering! It's a whole new set of focusing strategies we have to build up, and it's not easy. But I think it IS doable. The only thing that really has helped me in this shit-show of quitting during school is giving myself extra time. Lots and lots of time for each concept. Because everything takes foreverrrrr. On the plus side, it's getting faster I think.
Mcknz
I definitely hear you on the inability to process new information. I feel so slow and spacey post Adderall now. I have to really make myself focus on even the littlest things. I was on and off Adderall last semester (spring) and I could never really get it together because I lost all natural motivation. I'm giving myself the summer to get back to normal and get back at it in the fall. I have so much respect for the fact that you're able to stick with it! Keep it up! Believe in yourself and be patient. All of this will pass.
Cassie
Learning new things has been one of my biggest post adderall hang ups. It got a lot better after 2 years so you should find this annoyance subsiding over time
Popular Post JustinW
Thanks guys, I hope that this is just a retraining and adjustment thing that will steadily improve. Made the switch to Windows 8 over the weekend and felt retarded because I wasn't able to do admin level tasks intuitively; that didn't help either. I'd probably be a bit more upbeat about it if I didn't hate my job. Just counting the days until I get my BS and can get the heck out of Dodge. Man, do I sound pissy or what? On a positive note, I am going to submit my graduation application for the fall this week! Even though it's a small milestone (AS), I intend to walk the line next spring. Hopefully it will give my kids some inspiration to work hard for what they want in life.
JustinW
Ugh, how do I prevent myself from making stupid mistakes? I took a math quiz the other day and I transposed the decimal and multiplication signs on my calculator and got the question wrong, then I took a practice math test today and got a question wrong on basic subtraction. My confidence level going into Wednesday's test is pretty low.

You still have a lot of time to prepare.
