Motivation_Follows_Action
InRecovery, I'm seriously thinking about starting to train for a half-marathon. You should think about it too, when school gets out. I would have a loooong way to go, but I think accomplishing something like that would feel ahhhhmazing! ME TOO! Thanks to you and LILTEX, I was investigating training plans just this evening. I like the riding aspect of duathlons but my bike is in dire need of repair so I'm going to start running. Properly this time.
Kyle_Chaos
I definitely miss my Nike + App. I've been using an old IPOD to run with, not nearly as motivating as having your miles documented.
ashley6
MFA, That's great! I know if you decide to, you'll just do it, because motivation follows action, right?
Greg
i think running is so good for adderall recovery, because it causes your brain to produce dopamine naturally, "runners high". the more intensely i run, the more the runners high. I am getting addicted to feeling good naturally and running.
Motivation_Follows_Action
First run/walk today. I tried not to overdo it; I get sore really easily because of my back but it felt good to get some air in the lungs. More tomorrow and the next and the next. Aiming for a half marathon in the summer! sky
Is the distance accurate?
Greg
no actually. Well. it was at first, but suddenly it became inaccurate. Like i have to run 4 miles on my Nike Plus app in order to reach 3 miles in actuality. But that's just a small adjustment i have to make. Motivation_Follows_Action
Gooodddd I miss my Nike Plus. I ran for an hour and I wish I knew my pace I read that the latest update of Nike + was really bad.
Kyle_Chaos
I now miss it a bit less, true accuracy comes from a Garmin forerunner..
Greg
I read that the latest update of Nike + was really bad. Is that what happened? It suddenly got really inaccurate and I don't know why.
ashley6
In Recovery, I've been slacking big time on my 12 miles. Today I did 3.5 (makes only 6.5 this week), and I thought I was going to die. I think part of it might be running outside is A LOT harder than the treadmill. Have you noticed a difference? Have you had a chance to workout at all? I know you've been swamped! Greg
Ha..I am here on the track right now thanks to your post.
Greg
I just got back from a good 3 mile run. my first three miles of the week. you are way ahead of me. Last week I was really bad, no actually i was terrible, with running because of all the stuff I had due. I think unfortunatey im going to have some weeks like that though. in terms of treadmill vs outside, I am the opposite. I hate running on the treadmill because I get really bored. When i run outside it feels like I am at least going somewhere!
ashley6
5 miles today on the treadmill! Had to brag a little...felt great
Greg
Awesome!!! not bragging, you are motivating me. I could only do 1.5 miles today before stopping. I'm only at 4.5 miles this week. I'm going to try to go for a second run tonight.
ashley6
It's amazing how quickly it gets so much harder once you take a break....experienced that this week. Good job!
Greg
Yes, absolutely. I am now halfway there with 6. Good job too.
Greg
did you make it to 12? I had to do 6 miles today because i fell behind. So i ran for like 4.5 miles of it and walked 1.5 miles of it. I noticed that I dont 'sort of crave' an adderall boost when i run anymore. in the adderalld days, I used to always pop adderall before working out or whatever, so i still had some of that association. And when i would run, and get tired, id sort of crave it. but that's gone now which is cool.
ashley6
I've done 8.5 or something. I should've gone today. It was one of those days I could've used it too. Ugh. Good work! That's a lot! It's amazing how our brains can associate anything with adderall. I'm glad that went away for you. I always thought I was going to die or pass out when working out on adderall because my heart would beat abnormally quick.
Greg
i thought you were going to make 12 for sure by like Tuesday, you were so ahead of things !! I really ran closer to 10 miles than 12 with all that walking. I think i have to start running on Saturday or I just fall behind the whole week. Greg
I am at 8 miles for this week. But just a heads up. I'm entering a hellish next two weeks with FINALS. So I'm not sure how good I'm going to be with running but definitely will try my best. Are you making your way to 12?
ashley6
Good job! I did 4.8 today, but it involved a decent amount of walking. Felt good, though. I'm not to hard on myself as long as I'm moving. You're keeping me motivated!
Greg
owww. im sunburned from running!! (I think Im going to have to start getting used to running on the treadmill...sometimes) Did you make it to 12? I made it to 12 but I walked for one of the miles. Starting today I enter HELLL ( a different one from adderall withdrawal)..its the last week of classes...i have like two huge presentations due and my final exam this coming week. Then next week is finals week... So my running (and sleeping) schedule will take a hit.
