  1. Hey, thanks. Doctor visit went well. He said all these medicines are so uncertain and its basically a big guessing game. I asked him about the long term effects and stuff and he said there are no conclusive results as of yet. I will try to study without medicine for a while. My friend has done it successfully. Thanks for responding
  2. Hey guys. I'm an 18 year old male and I'm in my senior year. I've been feeling topsy-turvy lately and I'm not enjoying it. First let me share my experience with ADD medicine. Prescribed Concerta in 2nd grade. Mom took me off of it because of mood swings. Been on paxil since about 9th grade. In 9th grade, my grades were dropping. ADD caused me to not care about school. Prescribed Ritalin, but it made my heart pump too fast. Eventually was on Adderall for a few weeks. It was like a miracle; I was focused and learning so much during the school day. However, coming off of it was a nightmare. I'd start crying randomly in the car with my mom. That was the end of ADD medicine for a while. In the middle of 10th grade, I was prescribed Vyvanse. It was perfect. I was motivated, focused, and alert. I had trouble eating, but that was a small side effect. I would graph quadratic equations and find the directrix of parabolas just for fun. In 11th grade, Vyvanse still worked like a charm. I got 9/9 on almost all of my essays and I never had to study for math. It gave me some negative social side effects, but I didn't mind. Getting straight A's was worth the anti-social behavior. The problems have come recently. In November and December 2015, I started feeling a little less motivated. Also some brain fog was affecting me. I couldn't write essays like I used to, nor could I exceed as well in math. I talked with my Doctor and he prescribed me Focalin. What a nightmare. One day, while on it, I just had this random panic attack (haven't had them since 9th grade) and my limbs were tingly. After that, the Focalin basically did nothing for me. Also, my booster dose (Dextroamphetamine, which i've been taking for a while and has always worked wonders) stopped working like it used to after that one day. Now I'm taking adderall. I feel like crap. Unmotivated. Bleckh. Insomnia just started a few days ago. I would give everything I own just to feel like I used to. I've never abused any amphetamine or taken it to elevate my mood or to cope with something. Please, I need to know if this feeling of not wanting to do anything is permanent. I feel like my libido is lower too. BTW, I'm going to the doctor today. P.S( Vyvanse was at 50mg, Focalin was at 10mg, I take dextroamphetamine sometimes at 10mg for homework, Adderall at 15mg, daily fish oil and multivitamin, and paxil at 10mg) Sorry that this may be incoherent. I feel like I've lost the ability to interpret speech and like i've been taking words way too literally.
