What I realized after 6 month

Congratulations on 6 months!!! I think that's great advice even way past the 6 month period. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy isn't for everyone, but it has helped me immensely. My counselor is an addiction specialist, in recovery herself, so it is so nice that I can talk to her like you all, and she truly GETS it. I went every week or 2 for my first year. I still go, just not as much. Any advice on meditation? I think it would be useful for me!

Really a great 6 month post. Congrats. I'm 5.5 months or so. The deep depression in the first 4 months was so severe.  I started meditating and walking more.  I can't say I've crushed the depression but its much less severe. I'm typing this post with a SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) light on, I was told by a shrink family friend it was of the few tried and true methods for treating depression during the darker months.

 

Thank-you for contributing to the forum. I look forward to celebrating more months sober with you.
