elizabethryella
Hi everyone, My name's Elizabeth. I've only been on Adderall about a year or two now. But I have been on antidepressants much longer. It's really, really hard to quit. I know this. It's gonna be hell. I've also been on Abilify and Zoloft now for about 3 years. Zoloft in varying doses for much longer. I want to eventually get off everything. Does anyone have any tips for me just beginning to try to quit? I keep trying to quit and then chickening out. I've been looking at resources.. I just don't know where to begin and need someone to talk to. I know this is a bad medication to continue taking. And I know there's MANY people in the same situation I'm in which makes it even sadder. I hate that SO many people are in pain. I'm ready for a transition to my true self. I have struggled so long with prescription medication addiction. If anyone else is in a similar situation regarding antidepressants + adderall please message me. I'd love to have a "support buddy" Thanks everyone. I'm genuinely trying to quit.
survived
Congrats on making the choice to get off of all medications! I was once on anti depressants and I think getting off of those is a lot easier than getting off of Adderall. I dealt with brain zaps and hot flashes, but I think I got over those symptoms really quickly. I'd say I was okay 3months later maybe less. Adderall was much more difficult to get off of so I would personally recommend getting off of the anti depressant first and then the Adderall.
