JustinW
@SweetCarolinee - I hope to see you and your ASCII in the 60 day challenge soon! I just re-read that and I apologize for how it sounds...my bad.  @Luckyducky - I'm glad to hear that you're back at it, a Starbucks drink is way better than using again and can be a temporary crutch to help your quit. Good luck in your search for a therapist and keep up the good work!  @FW - I was wondering where you were. I was worried you'd fallen off the edge of the earth and was about to come find you.  @Jay - How are you doing today?
jaymeyer26
Days 11 and 12 - check and check! Sorry for no post yesterday. Live in the Southeast and got slammed with snow unexpectedly. Hard to get home, much less get to a computer. Working from home today, so less stressful. Thanks for all the nice words, I'll respond more tomorrow when back at the office!
Freebird
@sweetcaroline- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I had no doubt that you wouldn't make it! I am still amazed by the amount of energy you have and you have inspired me by you positive outlook and the way you encourage others!!!! I second your "woot woot"!!!! again congrats!! @luckyducky gosh since the last time we chatted it looks like you have had a rough time, but it seems like you make it through. I can understand at times it is very difficult to keep up with all the kids stuff and your house stuff... etc. plus gosh with your son you have the added pressure of making sure everything stays orderly. Maybe instead of the house being a trigger since you have pretty much have gotten caught up. I am sure that has to also make you feel better to look around and not see the clutter. And i am GLAD you are seeking outside help. Because WOW you have a lot on your plate!!! I hope you are able to find a someone one soon. But in the mean time good for for seeking support where you can find it. On here and at your church. you know you can send me a message anytime you need to vent. (((((HUGS)))) @jaymeyer good for you keep up the good work!
JustinW
@Jay - We are getting another 6 inches today, it took me an hour to drive my son to school. Way to go on your continued progress!  @Luckyducky - Are you hangining in there, I know day 5 is a tough one for you historically. jaymeyer26
Day 13 - confirmed. Closing in on 2 weeks. Never been this far. Had some less than normal things occur (getting a cold, then huge snowstorm), which have helped take my mind off of it. Big milestone for me tomorrow! Plus tomorrow happens to be 2 weeks until my baby's estimated due date! Big weeks ahead! I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe - JustinW, I hope you and your family are handling the snowstorm ok!
Jon
I'm rooting for you Jay. You have a lot on your plate to be going through this, but when you make it, you will be happy that you persevered.
Freedom's Wings
I haven't chimed in lately. I've been working nights so my clock is totally off. I just wanted to say congratz on everyone's progress. Although I haven't chimed in lately, I check in on everyone daily. Chat Soon. Be Well!!
JustinW
hugs FW, hopefully you get back on a normal schedule soon! Congratulations on another day Jay! Almost halfway there. It took me an hour to drive my son to school this morning (usually a 20 minute drive). 3 out of 4 of us are coping; the 4th is in Hawaii with her grandparents. I'm really missing her as I won't see her for a total of 18 days when it's all said and done.

jaymeyer26
Day 17 - confirmed! I feel pretty good starting a new week. I have gained a few pounds and am eating more, but unfortunately it's not all healthy. I seem to replace some of my Adderall cravings with junk food, which based on how it affects the brain may not be uncommon. I am trying to focus on making better diet choices because I know they will ultimately help me get to 30 days and beyond. Thanks for the positive and motivating comments! I hope everyone is doing well.

Luckyducky
Hello just want to check in finally found a psychologist who is also an addiction specialist. He is exspensive but is giving a big discount. We went to high school together but we didn't know each other well at all. He does therapy In his two offices and also hiking/walking therapy so I chose the hike because I am so out of shape I thought it would be a good start! I also have to do homework. I am really scared for some reason to to deal with some issues. They have been so warm and safe inside and know I have to share how I really feel. Just wanted to get that out. I can't believe what only 3 yrs of using has done to my entire life. It's crazy I hope one day I can look back at this horrible experience and see the good that came of it but right now I am in the process of ripping the band aid off😧

ashley6
Jay, Congratulations on your progress! Lucky ducky, That's good news on finding a therapist. I've never heard of walking/hiking therapy, but it seems very cool....two birds with one stone! If you're uncomfortable with it, therapy in that environment could be good to ease your mind. When is your appointment? Keep us posted!

Luckyducky
Hi thank u for the encouragement my appt is 9:30am Friday and I had to write the story of my addiction and a good bye letter to (adderall) it was a lot more difficult then I thought but empowering at the same time exp the goodbye letter. Everytime I hear that song "Somebody I Used to Know" by Gyote I think of my relationship with this drug. The lies it fed me. Sorry so deep just having a moment

I am like Ashley and have never heard of walking/hiking therapy. I know you will keep us posted. And I am sitting smiling as. I type this thinking how happy that I am that you did NOT give up... You keep trying and now it sounds like with the help if a therapist that has ALREADY given you assisgnments then you are on the right track! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! Luckyducky
So I went to Sprouts (Heath food store) I bought Lions Mane, L-tyrosine , fish oil and some tea. Has anybody tried these for improving your brain?
jaymeyer26
Day 19 - confirmed! LD, I have been taking L-Tyrosine over these past few weeks and do think it helps. It does not give me a boost feeling per se but makes me feel better helps with the "empty" feeling when trying to quit. I have not tried the others but if they work, I say go for it!
