Brit
Hey guys! I’ve been in therapy for a few months now, post getting off adderall. I’ve kinda gone off the deep end through uncovering painful memories and such. Downside/upside? of feeling again! So my therapist has been recommending I consider an SSRI for a while and finally I am going to take it. Lexapro to be exact. I am really hesitant to start on another drug that has withdrawals, it scares me a lot. Anyone have experiences to share with using this drug and what I can expect? <

It scares me too! If you have confidence in your therapist. then go for it. However, I would thoroughly research the drug and its side affects and its withdrawals before taking it. I have no experience with SSRI drugs like Lexapro.
EricP
My understanding is SSRI’s are much easier to get off of than SNRI’s... I’d also stay away from mood stabilizers or antipsychotics as those are very hard to quit. I tried Zoloft for awhile and honestly getting off it was easy because it seemed to make me more tired than I already was.
speedracer
I started doing Wellbutrin 3 months ago.Happy with results. Doesnt feel like Im taking anything at all, but I seem to have lost the depression. Almost 18 months off the speed and I almost back to baseline before adderall started. Definitely talk to your therapist about Wellbutrin too.
