  1. Lie?  you don't really want that.  we are all here to let you know that there is hope and it does get better, but it doesn't happen fast.  How would you feel if it looked like everyone on here had it so easy and you weren't?  You would be discouraged.  All of this is normal...just give it time.  Not everyone has anhedonia for that long, though.  I didn't.  Deep breaths...one day at a time.

Take a look at this blog and type in your "ailments".  You will see that inflammation from wheat and sugar causes them all.

Adderall makes you ignore poor feelings.  One of the hardest physical things I experienced after quitting was enduring a cold without the pills.  I could not believe how crappy I felt and how I just wanted to stay home and recover.  On Adderall, I would work through anything, except a stomach virus.

Without the Adderall, you can truly experience the crappy feelings...physical and emotional.

  3. Cold turkey is the only way I ever quit anything.  I know that telling everyone in your life that you have a problem and you are quitting helps to keep you accountable.  You will be surprised to know that everyone is aware that something is wrong with you, even if they don't know what it is exactly.  Welcome to the site!

  4. I think tinkering and Excel are activities most of us have in common.  One Christmas my son got a remote control truck and the charger didn't work.  I took that bitch apart and fixed it!  I also missed a lot of Christmas morning because I was totally consumed with fixing the charger...

  5. At 21 months clean, I am feeling much better than I did a year ago.  However, I am currently experiencing a slump in motivation.  I have lost over 20 pounds since January and I am just not in the mood to exercise.  I haven't had a real workout in 2 weeks.  I will get back to it, but right now I am a slug.  I haven't fallen off the healthy eating wagon, so I am still losing slowly.  I have 10 pounds to go before I am at my pre Adderall weight and 20 until I am at my ideal.

Give yourself a break.  Non linear process...

  6. We travel every summer.  It is Disney World this year, in May.  I really enjoy the planning side of it.  Last year I spent a ton of time planning our trip from Alabama to Colorado.  It was the first bit of motivation that I was able to muster.  It was an amazing trip.  I had just quit Adderall when we went the year before.  I spent the whole trip being hungry and grumpy...not good.

I would travel all the time if it didn't require money and time off from work and school...
