  1. I just bought another bottle of Host Defense brand Lions Mane at Whole foods today. I wasn't going to, but yes, they are that good. I would like to try another brand but they are kind of hard to find. What dosages are you guys taking?

    500 mg. once daily

    I might start taking it twice, it seems like I get groggy in the afternoon from the after-effect..

    Or maybe I just get groggy, either way.

  2. Thanks guys. Nothing to be jealous of, really. Most of my time will be spent inside a conference room or banquet halls or taxis or airports. I'm not a great explorer on business trips because in my "natural" state, I find all the meeting and greeting people and being "on" for 12 hours a day in a country where I don't speak the language to be really exhausting.

    But IR, you're really right and your advice is great. Time to see this in a new light, as a chance to see myself in a new light, just as I have up until now.

    Where are you going in Europe?

  3. I've been reading this book obsessively. My subconscious and conscious obsession with Adderall has made a book about amphetamines all the more interesting.

    It's all about how JFK, Hitler, Johnny Cash and many others have used the drug and the drug's affect on our culture.

So I'm almost 2 years sober and finally found something that helps with energy level-I recently did a 24 day challenge with Advocare- the first 10 days was a cleanse- I lost most of the weight gain I after quitting adderall and in turn found an energy drink - It is by no means a comparison for adderall, but it does help a bit and is healthier than red bull (and I've been searching for 2 years now).. It's called Advocare Spark (and also Advocare Slam)- Just thought I would share!

    Those things do work, when I was around 19 I would drink about 5 to 6 packets a day (I've been somewhat of a stimulant addict my whole life)

    But yes, it's a nice caffeine boost.

  5. I know that both add and meth are amphetamines but I think the commonality ends there, they just are not comparable as far as damage caused goes. Based on my lay-person readings, there is probably no permenant damage from taking add as prescribed whereas there definitely is with meth. I think meth can burn out dopamine receptors completely, which would probably account for the lack ability to expereince joy. I agree that they work the same way, just like fundamentally alcohal and heroin do (could be wrong about that), but as with that comparison it's kind of a stretch.

    I know it's different, but it's hopeful to see that if someone can completely recover (the second article) then we all have hope.

  6. Today I ran for an hour and a half, and yes.. I'm bragging. Anyways, I read online that you have to run over thirty to 45 minutes to get dopamine release in the brain. I certainly feel better after longer runs, anyone else experience WAY more euphoria/relaxation after a really long run?
