  1. Living the deadliest catch dream Lobster catching with lobster fisherman for 12 hours tomorrow. Boat leaves at 3 am
  2. 5 more days till I move and start work.. Hearing the rumble of office politics in the Not so far distance...ahhhhh..remember that?
  3. Mission impossible 5 = highly entertaining!
  4. Ah. Very similar to what you listed. empty pill bottles, scripts. Dr appointments on calendars, Pills, pills crushed, ground up pills into powder, straws, prescriptions...I'll also add a carton or two of cigarettes...and lots of pieces of paper with random sparks of ideas jotted down..
  5. boxes..boxes...boxes... everywhere
  6. I like this thread because there's no sugar coating here. set your expectations at this level and you will be better prepared.
  7. yes! Im not liking the real world if it looks like this...food used to come in the form of a meal plan that was tacked onto a tuition bill i never saw but knew id eventually have to deal with...
  8. Hey carock84 I I was thinking the same exact thing as quit once when I read your post. "Refusing my script refill" did not sound like a strong enough inclination. You are leaving the door open to "just in case".."just in case" is extremely persuasive to the adderallic. Almost everyone who quits successfully closes that door by cutting off their doctor. What do you think about quit onces suggestion?
  9. In terms of managing expectations, like what was said before on this thread....you may feel great one day but that is no indication you've recovered. Those withdrawal symptoms just decided not to show themselves that day...but they are still brewing under the surface and without a doubt they WILL be back!
  10. I guess when I was using they would have found someone deeply suffering, and struggling with a huge problem And running their lives into the ground..again and again.. And now they would find someone that is the total opposite of that former self..
  11. Ugh what a bummer! I feel you. I finally looked at the damage to my credit cards from car repair work, ikea, movers, wifi setup and all these moving costs and it was way worse than I expected.
  12. I dont know how much longer they will be up for free, but amazon has put up a bunch of substance abuse books available for free download on kindle. I havent read any of them but they look interesting. I have read most of the books on the original list in this post and cannot begin to describe how therapeutic they were in early recovery. http://www.amazon.com/Substance-Abuse-Six-Pack-English-Opium-ebook/dp/B011PXABRW?tag=slickdeals&ascsubtag=608f32fbbafb4d46b9123c17e2914496 Substance Abuse Collection Volume 1 Kubla Khan Confessions of an Opium Eater <----this book was written in 1821 and considered classic and one of the first memoirs about addiction... Tobacco and Alcohol The Opium Habit My Lady Nicotine and an illustrated Mark Twain Speech There is also a second volume of substance abuse books that is free as of now. Substance Abuse Collection Volume 2 http://www.amazon.com/Substance-Abuse-Six-Pack-Illustrated-ebook/dp/B011YKLWZQ/ref=sr_1_2?tag=slickdeals&ascsubtag=233221fcb40e4e1b81809068b3cb0d9f&s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1438308379&sr=1-2&keywords=substance+abuse+six+pack The Hasheesh Eater A History of Champagne The Truth about Opium The Betrothed An Ode of Thanks for Certain Cigars The Soul of wine (Illustrated) Also read somewhere about this memoir which came out a couple months ago and also came across the following list Finally one more book -- and I think if I recall correct both Cassie and I have read this book. Even though it does not deal with adderall addiction or addiction recovery...I felt this book really hit home and tapped into that state a person finds themselves in when they just quit adderall and arent sure how they are going to get through life...It's called "Get it Done When Your Depressed"
  13. Costly too! good grief, furnishing an apartment has a gazillion more expenses associated with it than furnishing a futon, bed sheets and a rug for a dorm room
  14. Empty Moving boxes make me tired just thinking about them
  15. The reality is that recovering from adderall is taking forever and a year For me ..I as well don't mention how bad it was too often for fear of scaring people but if it helps, I gladly will tell all. One year was a laughable milestone in terms of my recovery from adderall...I was still suffering insanely from addiction "headaches" and cravings, fatigue, no motivation, depression...all the classic symptoms. Some days were better than ours but it still royally sucked.
  16. Clinx I guarantee you that my recovery was much more drawn out than yours could ever be!! At one year I was not in good shape still, at all! I was still suffering from MAJOR adderall withdrawal symptoms, cravings...depression everything, I could barely get out of bed. I could not bring myself to work yet and all I did was read books in bed. And I am several years clean now and still suffer adderall withdrawal symptoms --imagine that. I am currently taking a natural homeopathic supplement to help me with my adderall craving withdrawal symptoms,,,but I am not sure if it is working so I haven't posted it in the supplements section. So definitely DO compare yourself to me and you'll feel better. I don't mention too often that my withdrawal still exists 4 years plus out for fear of terrifying people about how tough the quit is, but that has been the cold reality with me,
  17. My favorite indulgences...I agree with AlwaysAwesome...ICE CREAM...I cant get enough of it. Then I agree with ZK.. pizza such a great food... Also cape cod kettle chips are impossible for me to put down once i start eating them... Oh, and chocolate...all varieties and forms of it.. I also need to add Dunk Donuts to the list! Yum...donuts from Dunkin Donuts..
  18. That is a big relief to hear. Phew. I absolutely agree with you that more resources for it is so helpful for this site. Great article!
  19. Occasional my heart stopped when i saw you started this post thinking you posted this because you yourself relapsed...but that isn't the case right?
