  1. Wow, great first post! Congratulations on 2 years clean. Thank you for the words of encouragement.
  2. New Friend, I get to meet new and interesting people through my blog, some are from various ends of the earth. Stan from the UK is my most recent contact and it is fun to hear about his new project and hopefully I can provide some helpful insight.
  3. I never abused adderall, but I did a considerable amount of damage to my marriage, children, and family while taking it. I actually considered divorce on a few occasions while on adderall even though it was normally not an option in my pre-adderall mind. I sincerely hope that you two can work things out, but with adderall involved on both sides it will take a lot of work and a lot of sacrifice on both sides. We have our first session of couples counseling today and I suspect that it will take several years to sort things out but we are both committed to making it work. There are some things that cannot be fixed without a mediator and if you try to fix them on your own a lot of damage can be done. Best of luck to you both!
  4. Welcome to the forum Jnolanmartin! You've probably matured quite a bit since high school and have figured out that life takes a lot of hard work and concentration. Adderall was your crutch but now you have seen it for the damage that it can do to one's psyche. It won't always be an easy road but we will be here for you. Please consider joining the 30 day challenge so we can cheer for you as you go through this part of your journey and congratulations on making it 2 weeks!
  5. Jon, I'm glad to hear that you are seeing benefits to your hard work. I know that this 8 months has been very difficult for you. Good job on pushing yourself to make things better. I like your idea for a 1 year party; maybe I'll have to figure out where exactly Delaware is located, probably in the ADIZ.
  6. Glad to hear that you are still hanging in there SC and that you had a technological sabbatical. Those are nice to have every once in a while. Congratulations on day 59!
  7. I get to go to the airport today so I can...shovel snow, maybe some flying after that
  8. Good for you Amanda! Consider writing down everything that is bad about taking Adderall while it is still fresh in your mind. This can be a huge help on bad days. Secondly, I would encourage you to start a thread that introduces you (unless you don't feel comfortable sharing at this point). Thirdly, mosey on over to the 30 day challenge so you can be cheered along as you get through the first month of your journey. Welcome to the forums!
  9. Totally underestimated the snow fall, I expected 4" - 6" but when I opened the garage it was 14" - 16". They are predicting 2' - 3' drifts to develop on the roads overnight.
  10. Achmed Saves America comes out on DVD on March 18!!! Wait for it... ...Silence I keeel you!
  11. I'd like to think so, but I'm not sure that I can take that much credit for it.
  12. You aren't kidding $800 for one of those puppies is a ton of ching. Sorry that I don't have any suggestions for you.
  13. My suggestion is to get your bi-polar disorder under control first and foremost, then deal with the depression, and finally quit adderall. Due to your mental history you should not be consuming any alcohol; sorry to be the bearer of bad news on that one. Build a mental health team consisting of a psychiatrist and a therapist that you can trust because you will need to see them regularly.
  14. Shortest PAWS episode ever this morning - about 30 minutes.
  15. School is tough while in recovery, but if you are willing to work hard it is well within your grasp to do well. I am working on getting my brain trained to get back in the school mindset and after 6 weeks I am getting A's in all 4 of my classes and you are younger than I so you should have an advantage over me.
  16. Congratulations on passing the 30 day mark Jay, being a daddy to a little girl is a monumentally difficult and rewarding experience. They are different than us and have completely opposite needs from what we are used to as men. Good luck; I'm sure that you will be an awesome father!
  17. Welcome to the 60 day challenge Jay!
  18. Gibbs Quadski...Clarkson as Bond, what fun!
  19. Jay, I hope that day 30 finds you well and I wish you the best as you embark on the adventures of fatherhood.
  20. I'm so happy that you broke the 2/3 point of the 60 day challenge!
