  1. Congratulations Jay! I hope that the Welbutrin helps level you off during your recovery. The true measure of a man is not if he falls down but in how he picks himself up after the fall.
  2. You can do it Jay; continue to be strong!
  3. Congratulations ZK! InRecovery, you have finals already? Still 2 more weeks before finals for me but I have a book review to write that is due tomorrow. I'm struggling with it because it is so difficult for me to consolidate information across multiple sources and I think that I am suffering from a certain level of performance anxiety. One word status update - Inspiration! 'cause I need it...
  4. InRecovery, I'm glad that things are working out well for you. I submitted one resume last week and one this week. I guess that means that I am slowly making my way into the challenge. I am really being selective about the positions and companies.
  5. I was hoping that you would chime in on this quit-once because I seem to recall you talking about fish oil in the past and thank you for the link. I have to admit that I am scared about the fish burps; it makes me nauseous to think about it. Have you tried krill oil instead?
  6. Good to hear that the supplements are working for you Amy!
  7. If you're asking me, I am coming up on 15 months.
  8. Welcome to the forum Krista! That was an excellent goodbye letter. What stage are you at in your recovery?
  9. I never eat fish but my wife made salmon last week and I felt pretty decent for the following 2 days or so. It was a feeling of positivity. I'm wondering if it was coincidence or the fish and if it was the fish, can I get the same relief from fish oil?
  10. Brutal - the semester is coming to a conclusion and it's snowing
  11. @Amy - congratulations on day 4 @BB - we all have our bad days, especially in the early periods of recovery. Cut yourself some slack because you can't always be a rockstar You need to get yourself healthy before you can excel in other areas on life.
  12. Good job on making the first step in your journey!
  13. It sounds like you aren't being 100% honest with yourself and that you love getting high more than you love your boyfriend. You say you want to change but your actions show that you don't. You have a great man and if you REALLY want to quit and get his support (which he will so obviously give) then make your plan to quit with him involved and notify your doctor not to prescribe you any more of this stuff. You may do well to give him a certain amount of control to help you get through the first little bit too. Welcome to the forum!
  14. Congratulations on your decision to quit. You are very wise in realizing that week 1 is the easy part; week 2 and beyond are the issue. Welcome aboard.
  15. Congrats on 1 month!
  16. Amy, screw them if anyone judges you for making good decisions! You are making great strides in the right direction; keep it up.
  17. Variety - wind and rain has changed to rain and wind
  18. Plus he directed Office Space and Idiocracy
  19. Mike Judge isn't involved in Family Guy but he did work with Matt Groening on King of the Hill.
  20. Atypical - as in I hope that "atypical" means what I think it means; the opposite of normal, right?
  21. Quit-once, It seemed like an atypical response from you so it really caught me off guard. I'm sorry to hear that you're having a bad week. Cut yourself some slack this weekend and have some "you time" and things will get better. It sounds like you are under a lot of stress. Feel free to start another thread in the direction that you were heading and I will gladly participate. I hope things turn around for you soon; have a great weekend!
  22. I struggle in the afternoons also. I was coming down on myself pretty hard until I looked around at everyone else in the office and I realized that they get through their days with multiple cups of coffee and a couple cans of pop whereas I limit my caffeine intake to one can of Mountain Dew mid-day. I can't offer any good advice; just commiseration is all.
  23. I haven't discussed it but I haven't denied it or hid it either. I was not in the stages of addiction where the "adverse consequences" were immediately apparent to me. My shame doesn't lie in my addiction but in my poor behavior while taking adderall; my daily choice is to go back to the medication, dwell on the negative, or use my experiences to become a better person. I don't know what your point is in calling me out on this. I've been nothing but open and honest on this forum. If you want to know something about me just ask. Heck, if you're savvy you could find out a lot of details about me just by using Google.
  24. Jay, You have our support. I hope that fatherhood is treating you well even though adderall isn't. Have you had a discussion with your doctor about no longer prescribing it for you? It sounds like you need to be more drastic in cutting off your supply. Have a good weekend!
