  1. It sounds like you are doing everything right to me! You've surpassed anything that I am doing. I struggle with the same issues that you listed but I keep pressing on trying to make small changes as I go in a continuous improvement mindset. I think it the old saying "Time heals all wounds" is apropos in this situation; at least I hope so. Keep soldiering on; we'll make it through someday!
  2. How are your diet and exercise? Are you taking any supplements? The brain fog is tough to battle. I believe that post Adderall you will find a new normal and that person will be an improvement on who you were before the pills.
  3. You haven't done permanent damage but it is going to take time for your mind and body to heal. I hope that you decide to quit and commit 100% to it. It's worth the difficulty, in addition, the articles and people here are a tremendous resource to anyone who makes that decision. Everyone's recovery is different so I can't tell you how long it will take. Think of it as a journey of self improvement where you focus on the moment and the process of getting better instead of viewing it as a race to the finish. This is definitely a marathon and not a sprint. You can do it. Welcome to the forum!
  4. You have a lot of pain in your life and it seems that adderall is a big contributor but I suspect that it goes deeper than that. I noticed a lot of "can't" in that third to the last paragraph. That will be a big barrier to your success and so will any unhealthy relationships that you have. You need to cut ties with a lot of things including your doctor.
  5. Pills before the meal do help prevent the burps, I had one or two last night but no where near as bad as I had experienced before. I would also like to mention that I am buying the cheap stuff at Wal-mart and I am satisfied with the results / value. [flame jacket on]
  6. Landscaping - I never thought that I'd be able to work in the yard again but I've moved 16 trees in the past two nights after work. We'll see how many survive but it feels great to have some momentum.
  7. Welcome to the forum! Have you tried any supplements? The reality is that recovery will take time and each person is different. You have the benefit of not being on the medication long term so your recovery period could be relatively short. Some members believe that Wellbutrin gives a good short term boost to help counteract withdrawal symptoms; that may be worth checking out. Other than those two suggestions, make yourself at home on the forums and use us for support as much as needed.
  8. I'm doing great, it's awesome to see your progress along with Jay, BigBeezy, and Amy. I'm excited for the four of you! It's not an easy path but the payoff is huge.
  9. Cassie, you are a huge encouragement for me to keep going. I had actually put your name in my original post because I was thinking about your experience when I wrote it. Thank you so much!
  10. I took the pill before eating last night and I didn't get the nasties; I hope that is a permanent solution to the issue.
  11. Nice job InRecovery! That has got to be a huge sense of accomplishment.
  12. OK, I can't figure it out; what is the video with Tom Arnold in the background?
  13. I'm glad to hear that you made it to the 16 month point Jazz, I am at 15 months so I can't offer encouragement in that regard but I'm sure that a 2+ year member will be along shortly to give you some hope.
  14. No, it was an easy essay: which is more effective, fiscal or monetary policy? Support your argument with facts. Or something along those lines.
  15. Evacuating the airplane like a boss:
  16. 10 point essay question graded an I now sit at 80/90 for that final.
  17. Glad to hear that things are getting better for you too Jon. The fish burps are disgusting though. The only thing that I've found that kills them is the beer that I had last night.
  18. Half way there BB! Keep going. How are things treating you FW?
  19. Celebrating with a bottle of Rogue mocha porter - oh sooooo gooood!
  20. Thanks ZK! I got 70/90 on my last final before the 10 point essay question gets graded. That means that I'll get an A in all four classes!
  21. I know that the final grade in the class is what really matters and that 105 isn't bad but I want to do my best and in this case I could have done better if I had made better decisions. It really was a good lesson for me to not underestimate the depth of the material in the final.
  22. I've been taking fish oil now for about a week and I definitely notice a difference. I still get discouraged at times but it is not as bad as it was.
  23. Thanks IR; I didn't allot enough time for my first final so I rushed through and didn't do as well as I'd hoped; 105/130. I still got an A in the class so I guess it doesn't matter. I am hoping to have enough energy to crush my last two finals tonight but we shall see what happens. Glad it's Monday!
