  1. Everyone's recovery time-frame is different, but the general opinion is that no permanent damage has been done.
  2. Glad to see you are still hanging in there Jay! How is fatherhood treating you?
  3. and one of the basic laws of economics!
  4. Welcome to the forums Nicki and congratulations on your 16+ months of sobriety!
  5. We'll see how the test went when the results get mailed out next week. I really want to do well on the first three tests in this class so I don't have to take the final. My microeconomics class is officially half done; this week's and next week's quizzes are supposed to be the worst because they cover 3 chapters of information instead of two. It's a lot of information to cram into 5 weeks vs. the usual 16. I'm glad that my other three classes are on a more relaxed 8 week schedule. I don't think that I would survive 4 classes in 5 weeks. I know it sounds like I might be going to a "for profit" school with these tight schedules but rest easily, I am attending a community college until the end of this year and then I am going to a state college. One of my friends is going to a very popular "for profit" university and I cringe when we discuss school because of the school's reputation (warranted or unwarranted). On a high note, I submitted my graduation application today which was a big step for me.
  6. I needed to hear this today!
  7. You said "Day 46: In the zone" which triggered my adhd riddled mind to recall an episode of Archer (actually several episodes) where he was referring to the Kenny Loggins song "Danger Zone" from Top Gun. Sorry about that Probably slightly NSFW
  8. I also enjoy unplugging from tech on most nights and weekends. It is very liberating. Glad to see you are still with us Quit-once!
  9. Several members have started new jobs as part of their self-improvement. What works for one does not necessarily mean that it will work for you. We each have to find our motivation to quit and stay quit. Perhaps you should make a list of all of your reasons to quit and keep it in your wallet. Welcome to the forums!
  10. Ugh, how do I prevent myself from making stupid mistakes? I took a math quiz the other day and I transposed the decimal and multiplication signs on my calculator and got the question wrong, then I took a practice math test today and got a question wrong on basic subtraction. My confidence level going into Wednesday's test is pretty low.
  11. Procrastination - 'cause I'm a pro at it
  12. I do miss the over-consumption of information
  13. wait for it...wait for it...DANGER ZONE!!!
  14. Sterling Archer: Would you say we'd be venturing into a zone of danger? Commander Tony Drake: Well, yes. Obviously. Sterling Archer: No, but I mean how would you phrase that? Commander Tony Drake: The zone will be one of danger? Sterling Archer: No, I mean. Not if you'd say the thing that. Forget it. Nevermind. Danger Zone!
  15. Yawn - crappy sleep the past two nights
  16. Thanks guys, I hope that this is just a retraining and adjustment thing that will steadily improve. Made the switch to Windows 8 over the weekend and felt retarded because I wasn't able to do admin level tasks intuitively; that didn't help either. I'd probably be a bit more upbeat about it if I didn't hate my job. Just counting the days until I get my BS and can get the heck out of Dodge. Man, do I sound pissy or what? On a positive note, I am going to submit my graduation application for the fall this week! Even though it's a small milestone (AS), I intend to walk the line next spring. Hopefully it will give my kids some inspiration to work hard for what they want in life.
  17. FW - you have reached the half way point!
  18. I made it through the spring semester and I am in my second week of the summer semester. Let me say that trying to learn and apply new concepts post adderall is TOUGH. The process of taking adderall and quitting adderall has stolen my ability to process new things and it really pisses me off. I am keeping my nose to the grindstone; I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
  19. How was the weekend FW and Jay?
