Me too since I won't graduate with my B.S. for another 5 semesters!

Ally, you keep putting yourself through the worst part of recovery, the beginning. You're conditioning yourself to respond negatively to a situation (kind of like Pavlov's dog in reverse). Quitting once and staying quit is the path with the least pain. I went back to adderall after 4 months of quitting because it was too difficult for me. I was resolute to quit the second time, things get better but it ain't an easy thing.

Good for you Ashley!

Sunny day

Wow! Well said.

and then I go to lunch and slip on the ice underneath the fresh snow and mess up my shin. Now I get to spend the afternoon all muddy and wet. So much for a positive attitude LOL

Like ZK said, there's no quick fix to this problem. I'm having a blah day myself because I didn't get a good night's sleep, but the good days do outnumber the bad ones.

You are making huge steps toward your recovery; keep up the good work! -
but it's almost over!

How the heck did you upload a thumbnail?

Congratulations InRecovery! Will you have to move if you take it?

That's awesome! Now, forget about it until Monday and try to enjoy the weekend. I mean it.

It sounds like things went very well! My suggestion is to write a follow up email and include the website link for his review. If you don't get a response in a few days you will have an excuse to write another email because hyperlinks in emails sometimes go directly to the SPAM quarantine. Congratulations on getting out there and getting things done.

Then take it, get the experience, and get out before you end up too jaded!

Do employers still Google possible candidates? I did it today to see if anything needed to be resolved and I only got a list of patents with my name on them and my pilot certificate information.

Congratulations Ashley on the job offer. I have no advice for you on what to do, sorry. It sounds like an awful situation that you will need to move past at some point in your life; the ostrich mentality will only get you so far. I'm fairly conservative so I wouldn't be willing to confront demons like that until I was assured success. OTOH, you are a very strong person and I don't doubt that you could do it if you set your mind to it!

Hopefully it turns into something! How many separate positions have you interviewed for now?

Divorced maybe? Definitely much more damage would have been done to my relationships with my wife and children. We are definitely taking "the [road] less traveled by" and I believe "it [will make] all the difference" http://www.bartleby.com/119/1.html

Update - my friend has come back to me twice today for more information. The first time regarding current organization size and the second time for my letters of reference. I think that is good news.

We still support you and your effort to quit Jay. Please consider telling your doctor that you cannot be prescribed this stuff anymore or else find a different doctor that you can communicate with in a more open way. I know it wasn't easy to come on the board and be honest. Thank you for coming back and stay closer to the forum so we can be a stronger support structure for you during your quit.

In this case it isn't freelance work, it's a "try before you buy" situation. The thought of uprooting my family is a bit of a bummer. I like the sweepstakes analogy. It is difficult to prep for the grilling questions. Maybe you could go over some of the Q&A from Google interviews that are around the web? I find that they help get me in a mindframe to think outside of the box. I am apprehensive about interviewing with groups of people because I find that it isn't all that productive and it's tough to dazzle everyone in a room. Good luck with it though! I revised my resume yesterday and still am not 100% satisfied that it is "me on a sheet of paper". The recruiter will probably be disappointed because I was unable to make all of the changes that he suggested while maintaining a cohesive document. I have to find a way to get it out of my mind and move on at this point which is difficult for me. I hate writing resumes which is probably why I have considered hiring a wrtiting service at a couple of points in my life.
