  1. Woo-hoo! That's a huge accomplishment. Things can only get better from here.
  2. The most I've been prescribed daily, at different times the last few years, Adderall XR 40mg, Adderall IR 70mg, Focalin ER 20mg, and Vyvanse 70mg. My psychiatrist has always put my ADD front and center, although I originally started seeing him for crippling anxiety and panic attacks. Personally, I think ADD is bull. I was told my anxiety was being caused by ADD. The first two years my anxiety was better, but the medication eventually made it 10x worse. And my psychiatrist is actually a good guy who never seems to be drug pushing. It's like he's unaware it could ever become such a problem.
  3. Why is prescription pain medication addiction getting so much attention and Adderall is not. Has Adderall even been on an episode of Intervention? How often does the term 'Adderall abuse' ever get mentioned in the media? Why is this not being talked about? Why can I call my doctor's nurse and demand an increase and get it easily, while after having surgery be asked "Ibuprofen or Tylenol?" Is anyone else bothered by this?
  4. Look up Kava candy on Google and there's only one person who sells it, as far as I know. Or at least the biggest known one. He's awesome.
  5. I'm sure this has been asked, but I know there are some newbies and such. I was on it for six years.
  6. Has worked great for anxiety, as well as the brain fog and other mental injuries Adderall left behind. I don't drink the tea or take the pills, I tried the candy. I love it, even though some of the Kava Kava experts will say it's not THAT effective as far as Kava goes, I didn't need a lot. Not looking to feel "high" by any means, just relaxed.
  7. My health was deteriorating. Hard to breathe, high BP, racing heart, etc. I also did it for my family. You can't be a good wife or mother when you're taking Adderall.
  8. I still drink one cup in the morning. I think I always will. Giving up sugar sounds good, though. I know I eat a lot of junk.
  9. I've never taken it, but Wellbutrin has helped me.
  10. I told my doctor that Adderall was simply not doing it for me anymore and not benefiting me in any way, shape, or form. I probably should have told him I was dependant on them, but at least now I can't call and simply get my script refilled. It's better than nothing. More than I have ever done in the past.
  11. I've made it two weeks without Adderall. I've quit in the past, but this time it was different. For the first time I told my doctor I was done. At our last appointment I told him I wanted to taper down. I was on 40mg a day. After my month supply of 30mg I decided I had enough. I called him and told him I was forever done with Adderall.
  12. I've never been a big drinker (maybe just early 20s when most of us are). I actually can't stand drinking without Adderall, not that I drink much with it, either. When I'm on Adderall I feel like they cancel each other out a bit, so I stick to one or two drinks. When I'm not taking Adderall drinking makes me so tired that I fall asleep after a couple glasses if wine.
  13. I was clean a whole year and relapsed, so I feel your pain. It can be so hard. I just keep coming back to this site every time. It helps. There are some awesome people around here.
  14. Which was more awful for you guys: The worst day you had on Adderall or the worst day you had in recovery?
  15. I think this drug is the "mommy's little helper" of our generation. I have tons of friends who swear by these pills. When you try quitting you almost feel selfish. I can't lay on the couch and wait to feel better — another human being is counting on me to take care of them. Being a mom is tough. Life is tough. I love that feeling I get when my husband gets off work and the house is spotless, my kid is happy, and I have enough energy to cater to his every need. But we can't go on like this. Every day we continue to take these pills we lose ourselves a bit. I miss the old me.
  16. Flushing pills is so tough — it takes a lot of courage. Congratulations on taking that step. You did the right thing.
  17. Congratulations on being so strong. That's awesome.
  18. It worked right away for me. I've also heard not to take it every day. Researching online, I found that a lot of sources say different things.
  19. You have a medical problem. You're addicted to pills that a doctor prescribes you. No one is going to take your kid away if you seek help. It sounds to me like you're a good mother who wants what is best for her child.
  20. Wonderful news. Glad things are going good!
  21. Awesome! One year. Thats huge.
  22. From my experience you'll notice your brain fog sort of start to fade away sometime after three months. When I quit in the past it was the three month mark where things really started getting better. Everyone's different, but you've came to the right place for guidance. I'm in the process of getting back off it again, so I'm not much help at the moment. Stick around. Everyone on this board is amazing.
  23. Here's an article from Reader's Digest that I wanted to share. It's the simple things that we are unable to enjoy on Adderall. http://www.rd.com/health/wellness/best-simple-pleasures-in-life/?trkid=FBPAGE_RD_20170328_Happiness_New_Wellness_Slideshow Anyone else have any more to add?
  24. I've dealt with a but of social anxiety my whole life. It is worse right after you quit Adderall but it gets better at about the three month mark, at least it did for me. It takes awhile to adjust to life without it.
