Welcome to "THE iPLEDGE CHALLENGE' Your journey starts here..

I will give you an honest answer, not well. I feel really drained lately; thus my lessened participation here on the forum, I apologize for that. I still love everyone here and I'm not going to relapse, this is just a difficult time for me and I feel extremely over subscribed and a fair amount of self loathing because I keep beating myself up over my lack of progress at work (even though I look back at the past two weeks and I have accomplished a lot for our organization and church). I read something interesting this afternoon that gave me a glimmer of hope, I will paraphrase it here, a managers day can be described as being interruption driven. Sorry if that is a little dark. It sounds worse than it is. You are all still in my prayers daily.- 127 replies

Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your story. Just remember this, recovery is just a whole bunch of days, minutes, seconds, and breaths strung together. You made it through today and you can make it through the next.

Thank you for the update and congratulations on your continued sobriety journey!

That's an interesting point Cassie, I'm scared to think about my response to that situation.

It takes courage to get rid of that crutch, make no bones about it. It took me over 6 months to gather the strength to do it so I applaud anyone at any point in their recovery where they can do it.

You're not preaching; you're helping out a friend. You have experienced the pain and are trying to save someone else the suffering!

A little overwhelmed today but taking things minute by minute.

New Day!

Prepping for nasty butt coldness approaching during the next couple of days with some homemade elk and venison stew.

Congratulations on 12 days! #3 is important no matter what stage of life you are experiencing.

Major ERP update = Major headache; I haven't spent any time at my desk today.

I don't have any real advice for you, but I have moments of fear when contemplating any type of change at this point in recovery so I am very impressed by your excellent attitude and bravery! I'm sure that you've said it before but my memory is crap, what is your career path?

I've also had to keep a close eye on how often I drink; sometimes it is the day after or a couple of days after but I always follow up a night of drinking (even in moderation) with a down day.

That's an excellent point, mine went in the nasty trash.

Feed them to woodland creatures? Seriously though, your pharmacist is the best method of disposal. Welcome to the forum!

ZK, There's no shame in being honest. I think that a lot of us make a conscious effort to stay positive. The reality is that life isn't all sunshine, lollipops, and roses. We all have bad days, keep the faith man.

Happy New year everyone!

Hang in there Oyvey, it seems that you've been smacked up side the head with the 2X4 of reality this week. You have control now of whether or not you are a heartless bastard not some poison pill! We're here for you.

It makes it tough to maintain your resolve when those around you can't see the problem or understand the difficulty that you are experiencing. This site is a Godsend as it is a source of likeminded support for us all.

We are happy that you found us too! Welcome to the forums. Might I suggest the 30 day challenge thread to help with your commitment to quit?
