  1. I'm bad and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.
  2. Sleepy and sick, got the driveway done and in bed hoping to kick this cold.
  3. Way to make the commitment and congratulations on being 1/3 of the way there! You can do this; keep up the good work.
  4. More SNOW, I'll actually have to get out the snow blower tonight. That's an hour long project that is difficult to start for an ADHDer. 130' of fun
  5. Might I propose a more existential challenge than counting days? You have proven that you can stick out the time, now how about some sort of challenge toward learning to live life again? I don't know what that would look like, but I think that it would be a challenge that each one of us could find a benefit from participation. Just thinking out loud here, you can disregard it if you like. In no way am I trying to discourage a 120 day challenge because you know I will be there cheering you on!
  6. That couldn't have been easy to share, but I appreciate you sharing from the heart. It shows that you have true strength. I hope that you can rebuild without too many long term challenges. Thank you!
  7. Getting outdoors and moving around is an excellent way to deal with withdrawl symptoms, I am happy that you are rebuilding connections with your family; that is very important. Kids are amazingly resilient aren't they? Keep rolling!
  8. I like the quote by Ron White "That boy's got a lot of quit in him" because it reminds me so much of myself. When the tough gets going; I get gone. There are many incomplete projects and adventures in my life; college, karate, and a reprap machine, to name a few. When I reach a tough spot I tend to shut down and give up or find something easier to do. The thing about quitting adderall is that it is tough but there's no giving up because the whole focus of quitting adderall is being a quitter. This whole process has given me a new perspective on life. It has helped me stick to my training to become a pilot and I am almost to the end of that process. I had been avoiding my hobby project for the past couple of months until last night because it got difficult. Last night, I went down to my workshop and planned to just spend time in the same room as my project. I started going over each completed piece and began to admire the workmanship that I had done and then it hit me; I had done all that beautiful woodwork without adderall. This realization moved me to organize a few things on my workbench and then make some small bits of progress. I have logged about 245 hours on the project so far and I probably have spent double that time dreaming, schemeing, and planning different aspects of it. I suspect that I am only about 1/4 of the way finished but I have learned a new coping strategy and that is to take a step back and admire the progress that I have made so far and not focus on the difficult road ahead. Being a quitter is part of who I am, but that's not always a bad thing. http://movieclips.com/kPvVg-bio-dome-movie-whos-a-quitter/
  9. Holy crap, you just about gave me a heart attack! I thought that you were going to get the script filled; you really had me going there. WHAT AN AWESOME STEP YOU HAVE MADE! We are so proud of you. I know it's been a tough week and getting the flu probably isn't helping things but you are doing the work, keep it up lady. And we're all crazy, just to different extents ;-)
  10. I'm not sure what advice to offer for you and your friend, but I would say that anyone snorting adderall is not using it in moderation by any stretch of the imagination. Life is better off the stuff, but it is a bear to get over PAWS.
  11. Well, you came to the right place for some more support. Might I suggest the 30 day challenge? We all understand the challenges and struggles that you are going through and we will offer encouragement every step of the way. There are some great articles on this site that can help you plan your quit and stay quit too. Please hang around here and post as much as you need to stay sane. You can do this!
  12. I agree, I had kind of a "light bulb" moment around the 7 month mark but was still pretty thick at 6 months.
  13. Snow!!! I was bummed when I got home from up North yesterday because there was 5" of snow on the ground there and none here. We have some beautiful big flakes coming down now.
  14. Congratulations LL! The 3 of you have now rocked 60+ days and left a log of the adventure for the whole internet to see and provide encouragement for those who are just starting the journey. I hope that this process has been enlightening for you and I wish you the best during the next 60, 120, 180, etc. days. Thank you for showing everyone that it can be done and thank you for your contributions to our community. You are very special people.
  15. I agree with everything you said, but OCD compels me to capitalize it. I'm a work in progress but I will try not to capitalize "that which shall not be named" from now on.
  16. Let's see, a Canadian web vendor on a big time project; you're not working on healthcare.gov are you? Word for today - fortitude
  17. I'm assuming that "2.5 hours" should be "2.5 years"? The people here probably won't be much help for your question as we are all here because we quit adderall for one reason or another (souless zombies). There is a point where the benefits of the drug will no longer be evident so you will continue to up your dose to feel like you have "super powers". Experience has taught us that those feelings are a lie and we realize that the product that we put out while on adderall was garbage (look at your typo). If you decide to quit, we are here to help.
  18. Good luck with your Dr. appt. Keep repeating post #1 and you will get through this!
  19. Keep up with doing things around the house; I know it's a difficult process but the sense of accomplishment will help pull you through the rough patches.
  20. 8 cups of sugar! that is classic. I hope things are getting better for you this week.
  21. Wind didn't die down, it got worse. Oh well - another day I guess. Word for the day - Beefcake (a little South Park reference for y'all)
