  1. You made it through day 1, congratulations! Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get through this. I am happy to hear that you are communicating with your daughter, I hope that approach works as it is the one that I plan to use with my minions as they navigate that difficult part of life.
  2. That wins for most challenging first day ever. It made me wonder about my motivations to start smoking. Maybe if you can get your 15 year old to talk about their motivation to smoke it would give you some clues on how to connect with them and help them go in a different direction. Or I could be completely full of crap. Anyways, I appreciated the 90's reference. Well, 1989 is close enough to the 90's right?
  3. Hoping the wind dies down today, I need to achieve #6 on my quitting adderall milestones. How big does the "big" project need to be?
  4. Awesome job FW! We are all very proud of you. Treat yourself to something nice. @LL - Day 60 is black friday so does that mean you'll be going nuts at the mall?
  5. Never good enough for some people, tired of trying.
  6. Congratulations on 5 months Jon, I really value your friendship and I have a ton of respect for your fortitude in making it through these difficult times of withdrawal and a brutal work schedule. Cheers my friend!
  7. You're not that much older than Zerokewl or I and Jon has you beat. We are a variety pack on this board.
  8. Still incredibly sore for absolutely no reason that I can figure out.
  9. Freight train - I feel like I got run over by one but I also feel like I am gaining momentum and soon I will be unstoppable like one
  10. @SS9 - I hope that the doc can give you something to help you get better; get well soon! @FW - Are things going better for you today? @Lunax - On what day will your countup and countdown be the same?
  11. It's supposed to start snowing again tomorrow night; I heard 1-2" on the radio this morning. I had no clue you were a fellow Minnesotan.
  12. +1 to that, I would be 15 months clean instead of 9 months if it weren't for my relapse. If only I had held out a little longer...
  13. Financial Accounting, Principles of Management, and Macroeconomics; nothing too exhilerating or challenging. I am starting back pretty far because I changed from a mechanical engineering major to a business administration major. My career goals have changed considerably in the last 5 years. I can take all of the courses on line from a reputable college so I don't have to spend large amounts of time away from home or work. Going to take statistics next semester; what a fall from multivariable calculus...sigh
  14. I definitely need to devote some time to studying this one, it looks like it contains a lot of treasures.
  15. Thank you very much guys, your encouragement means the world! I'll probably end up leaning on you for support when things get tough in a couple of months because I don't want to fail in my quit or in this pursuit.
  16. I think that it is likely that you weren't getting the full effects of such a high dose due to the acidic diet and therefore your crash may not be as bad as it could have been. I'm not saying it will be a walk in the park, but it could be less physical stress.
  17. Yep, I got to be the creepy old guy hanging around campus this morning. Time to finish what I couldn't finish all those years ago.
  18. What are you doing to prevent access to your pills? It sounds like you don't have a solid quit plan "a failure to plan is a plan for failure" and I doubt that relapsing helps your self esteem very much.
  19. Thanks for the suggestion, I will discuss it with my GP.
