If you take out the bullhorn this early on in the race, where can you go from there? Be careful not to jump the shark! You have now reached 60% FW - great progress.

Almost to the finish line LL - good for you! Hopefully you are learning how to cope with withdrawl and your inconsistent schedule.

How are things going for you Ali?

guess who's back

That's funny, I assumed you were on the west coast for some reason. That was a beautiful word picture. I wish that I had that level of talent to describe my experiences in the Big Horns last week. This country has an amazing landscape.

Kori, I am glad to see your new outlook on things; I have been concerned about you for the past week+

Take it one day at a time, break it down to one hour or even one minute at a time if need be. Recovery is not a race, it is an endurance test. It sounds like the small dosages aren't doing much for you anymore and you are already experiencing withrawl symptoms. Hopefully this means that you won't notice much of a difference between a little adderall and none. We are here for you. Thank you for your openness in your posts. Hopefully you find it therapeutic to write down your feelings, sometimes a journal is a big help for people during recovery. It's your process, do it your way whatever it takes.

Thank you for reminding me about laughing. That is one of the biggest things that has returned since quitting adderall; being able to truly laugh and laugh often! Laughter is such a gift. @LL - great work; you are past the halfway point @Lunax - you are counting up and counting down at the same time! How many days will you have off adderall by the big date? @FW - Only 4 days to the finish line; thank you for starting this post and keeping it fresh!

This is one of the times that I am happy to be wrong then. How is your support structure Madeline?

Me being an idiot, it's an annual conference that teachers go to but it's only a MN thing.

and hey, when life gives you lemons, make gatorade.

Most days, I enjoy my kids a lot more now.

How are things going for you ZK? I see you have a new feline friend, but that's not the end of the world I guess.

Fuddly - like Elmer Fudd, a hunting we will go...

Are you doing OK Occasional01? Do you get a break for M.E.A. or not? I hope that nothing too serious has got you down.

Sobriety is a beautiful thing!

I missed a couple of days and look at you, counting down with only 5 to go. We are all very proud of you! I just realized that I probably won't have internet access on day 30 to celebrate with you. Please know that I am there in spirit.

"the mundanity of sobriety" - wow, you are deep into believing the addy lies with that one. You may have forgotten who you were, but don't worry; she will come back better than ever with a renewed appreciation for life. Things will improve greatly for you. Don't let your husband's infidelity get in the way of how you feel about yourself, it is his deficiency not yours! I am glad that you have nailed down your motivator now go get your prize. Keep up the good work weaning off the poison. You can do this and you will enjoy your family soooo much more once you kick it.

Man, you owe me a new monitor because that was epic. I don't think that anyone has put it so succinctly. On to the serious stuff. You can do this. Adderall is lying to you and you are taking the bait; hook, line, and sinker. I would put money on the fact that you were probably successful and outgoing before the drugs. The problem is that there is no free lunch here. Your mind got used to the addy crutch and you just pulled the rug out from under your brain so its saying "WTF?" and freaking out. Things will be more difficult to accomplish for a bit but you can accomplish them if you work at it. You have seen what you can accomplish if you put your mind to it. The adderall opened your eyes to your true potential. Now is the time to achieve that true potential which you can only reach when you are off the drugs. Sorry about all the cliche's - it's kinda my schtick

Congratulations on your 3+ years and your excellent progress on your adderall quit! You deserve to brag.

Madeline, I admire your strength in dealing with this roller coaster ride. I am really concerned about some of the actions of your boyfriend. The up and down swings, erratic behavior, anger, and multi-day insomnia almost make me think that he is abusing some sort of drug. I hope that I'm wrong; I just don't want to see you get hurt. Also, having another woman in the house around a man who is mentally and emotionally vulnerable might not be the best idea. Even the most virtuous man can stray when his defenses are in such a weakened state.
