  1. Thanks for the timeline! I have never been clean from Adderall this long. Actually, never longer than a few weeks before the weight would creep up and I would run to the doc. So, everyday has been new and exciting. I think it is good for people to understand that there is no safe time to be around Adderall. At no point in your life will you be able to "handle" taking a pill. We are addicts. Total avoidance is the only way forward. You inspire me, too GrumpyCat! I am amazed at your ability to relapse and still come back and honestly share the journey with others. Bravery. You will do it this time, I just know it! BTW, I am about 10 pounds from where I was when I quit. I can't believe I have lost 30 pounds!!! Motivation does return, thank goodness!
  2. I bet that you got rid of it right away!!
  3. I did notice it after the fact, but it didn't stop it from happening over and over again. Adderall made me not care how I treated people. "The house is super spotless, and they are fed and taken care of. They should be grateful and not demand so much from me!" I really convinced myself that they were the ones being unreasonable. I felt that I deserved to be angry and they deserved to take the brunt of it. So sad and so much time wasted...
  4. Unfortunately, you can't rationalize irrational behavior. I wish I had some good news for you, but until he quits the substances he will continue to be broken. Only he can quit. A lot of people justify Adderall because it is prescribed. I know I did. Abusing the prescription should be a warning sign to him, but he is not living in reality. How do subox and Adderall mix? I am not sure it is a great idea to combine Adderall with anything. I was horrible to my family, but I had to quit for me. I am fortunate that my husband hung around, but if he was just a boyfriend I don't know if he would have. Read the posts here and there are some great articles for non addicts who love addicts. Good luck and remember that your well being is important too. Don't let him destroy you.
  5. We are at the same time in our recovery...imagine if this had happened at month 6. I don't know how well I would have done...
  6. I posted this exact same thing a month or so ago. It is never safe to have it around. This is why it is so important to cut off the source(s). Any chance you can get more and you can't stop thinking about it. Great job resisting the pull!
  7. I feel so great. Down 2.2 more pounds this week. Pretty steady 2-3 pound loss each week. I am aiming for getting my bikini body back by summer!! Doing this without Adderall is so much more satisfying...it really is!
  8. Get rid of your source, or you will always be tempted to go back. Good luck, you can do this!!
  9. You can do it! I made it through high school without meds, only to be lured in to the "adult ADD" crap. Oh, I wish I had never picked up that first prescription...
  10. Tear up that refill prescription!!! Or, if it is an auto fill, call and cancel it. Do not leave yourself a way to go back easily. You are doing great, so hang in there!!
  11. If you are already feeling like crap and unmotivated, then I recommend not continuing with the Adderall. Stop now and learn who you are without these drugs. You can do it. Don't be like some of us, 30+ years old and trying to learn who we are after 10 years or more on ADD meds.
  12. LILTEX has it exactly right! Great Advice above^^^^ Don't make any changes now that you may regret later. You are just not in the proper state of mind. Give everything some time. Hang in there! You are doing so great.
  13. I am totaling it up using an apps. I should be nearing ketogenesis soon. I have been doing this strict biz for a week tomorrow. It can take a couple of weeks, but my carb intake has been super low. Hopefully, it won't be much longer. I don't drink any calories. Haven't in a looooong times. Well, I put cream in my coffee, but I add that up in my app. I have been holding steady at the post water weight loss weight. Should start seeing the scale move soon.
  14. One day at a time...you can do this. Now, go have a carb filled snack and watch some junk TV. It is the best prescription!
  15. Quit once...I have been keeping a food journal for the last 3 days as I am trying to get into ketogenesis. It is eye opening. I feel so much better when I have some pork rinds. I just discovered them! This LCHF diet is short on crunch, if you know what I mean. I was so happy to bite into those little salt and vinegar flavored rinds! Ahh...life really is good right now.
  16. There will be some set backs along the way, but it is so worth it! Just push through and know that it is worth it...you are worth it.
  17. I just posted to the 30 day challenge thread, so it is at the top of the "Tell you story" page.
  18. Here is the 30 day challenge for all newbies who need it! Let's do this!
  19. You will be a GREAT teacher...just not a super hero. Let yourself accept the idea that you are not perfect and nobody can be. Adderall stops working over time. That is why we all gain weight towards the end. If you don't continue to increase the dose, then it will stop being effective. You have to stop eventually, because you can't keep going on like this. Cut yourself some slack and understand that you will be a better teacher, a better person, without stimulants. You could always try something non stimulant, too. My daughter takes Strattera and it really helps her. I took her off of Concerta when I quit Adderall, but she can't function in society, lol, without something. There are other options, but you need to get to a place where you can accept your imperfections.
  20. Remember to post on the 30 day challenge, too. We will check in on you and cheer your success!
  21. So, first of all, welcome! You are among kindred spirits. Let's see...how long have you been off of your Adderall before getting a new prescription? I know my weight had started creeping up while I was on Adderall, but I gained 40 pounds in the first 4 months after I quit. How about make a plan. Take the Adderall, finish the year, lose the weight, then quit over the summer when you have time away from work. Teachers are so fortunate to have a couple of months off from work, so take advantage of it. Make a plan and work towards it. When you are really ready to quit, you must cut off your supply. If you can't get any, then you can't go back. I know you will be able to get through this, but it will be easier if you plan the quit when you have the least stress possible. In the meantime, get your crap in order so you can slack a bit when you first quit. Good luck and hang in there!
  22. I had an energy bump at 10 months, too. More at 18 months...I am pretty sure it will only get better with each passing month!
  23. 1. No 2. Yes, in recovery. Even though I never abused my prescription, Adderall made me an addict all the same.
  24. I tried to go to the chat room and it has an error. I haven't seen that before.
