  1. I like the "planned cold turkey" quit. You have enough pills to get to a long weekend, right? Plan a long weekend, or a week off. Take your pills until then. Super clean your house, prepare... Then, throw them away where you can't get to them. Put some bleach in the bottle before you throw them out. No going back...then let the cold turkey adventure begin! It can be done, I am proof.
  2. You can do it! Take a look at this www.wheatbellyblog.com I quit all things wheat, grain, and sugar. I feel amazing. I am 38 years old and I lost 6.6 pounds last week. You can reverse type 2 diabetes with diet. I am going to get this damn Adderall weight off, and I am going to clean out my garage! LOL, well, I am going to try... Don't think the pill will help you long term. Once you get off of it, your metabolism is shot for a long time. It took me 16 months to even get motivated to exercise, and 18 months to actually do it. I have been rocking it this month, and I am so glad that I found exercise again. It was exercise just taking the clothes off of the treadmill! Show your Mom in law some of the articles on this site. It helps to have support, but only you can do this.
  3. We watched episode 2 last night. I am hooked. Glad the boy isn't dead
  4. I just saw the first episode of Game of Thrones and it is really good. Bordering on soft porn...but really good.
  5. Well, whatever works for you. I think ANY motivation is a plus. I just remember marijuana made me want to sit still and enjoy the baked feeling, with a bag of Cheetos. Lol! If you wait on the motivation, it will return. You have to kick yourself in the ass a bit, but it does return.
  6. How very accurate! I love this post. It is what I always preach, and I am a believer.
  7. I love this thread! Because no matter how old you get, people will always suck.
  8. I quit all grains, sugar, carbs except from two small servings of fruit/day. I feel so much better. It is hard to watch others eat delicious looking carb filled meals, but I can do it. A taco salad minus the shell is great! Diet sodas are the devil. They give me crushing migraines. I drink coffee with half and half, no sugar ever. It is a difficult lifestyle at first, and I do have to prepare my food at home instead of eating out. And, movies suck without popcorn. But, the energy and improved gut/bowel issues make it worth the effort/struggle. Plus, it is fun to be the jerky friend who says "is that grain free?" LOL
  9. From my experience, weed will not increase your motivation...just your appetite.
  10. You are all doing so great! Hang in there...it only gets better from here!
  11. Quentin Great job quitting meth! I hear that is extremely difficult. Followed closely by Adderall...You may have a more difficult time than most, because of your history with meth. I think you are doing the right thing by coming clean with your group and your doc. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! btw, what part of Georgia are you in?
  12. I know it was hard for me to adjust to life without the Adderall "superhero" feeling. I was anxious in social situations at first, because I didn't know how I would do. It didn't last long, luckily.
  13. You can't quit for good because a new prescription is always waiting for you at the end of your withdrawal. Cut off your supply...tell your doctor. Don't give yourself an option of going back to it. Then, you will quit.
  14. I have to take massive amounts of niacin to do any good. 2-4 GRAMS per day is the recommendation.
  15. How do these people make it through the day without forgetting to breathe?
  16. I was having hallucinations and always felt crappy. Never enough sleep, poor nutrition, and speed are all ingredients for bad health.
  17. IIRC? I can't eat wheat flour, so I am low on the vitamins which breads, pastas, and cereals are enriched with.
  18. Anyone ever taken niacin (the flush kind) and lumbrokinase? I am going to start taking it to try and reduce my lipoprotein a level, and I was just wondering...
  19. NO icecream! I quit sugar and all things carbs. Gotta get this weight off once and for all. I am at 11,167 steps today and more to come!
  20. Yesterday morning I found an old phentermine bottle in a drawer. I was looking for Neosporin. It was from 2011 and I was soooooo tempted to take some. There were 6 pills in the bottle. I was working it out, and thinking about drug testing at work. Would I get in trouble? It would help me jump start my weight loss. I can just take these and then I won't have anymore, so it would be fine. THEN...I snapped out of it and had my husband get rid of the bottle. 18 months clean and I was ready to throw it all away after just seeing those little blue spotted pills. So, I wanted to share with everyone how important It is to get rid of your stash and cut off all ties with your source. It is too tempting to even have a chance to get a hold of some. Thank goodness for this site. I actually thought about how I would have to post "I relapsed on 6 phentermine pills" if I actually did it. It made me pause just long enough...I just love all of you!!
  21. Welcome to the forum! You are so young, it is great that you recognize the problem now. We are all here to support each other. It is difficult, but it is possible. When you decide to quit, you have to cut off all supply. Tell everyone you are quitting and why. It helps to have external accountability. Also, it helps to let people know why you are a chunky slug all of the sudden. LOL Quit now so that you aren't a 30 year old trying to quit Adderall. You can't live like this forever. Good luck!
  22. Just an update...I am in the trailer for the new Melissa McCarthy movie. They changed the name to "The Boss". I am so glad I made it in the scene! Can't wait to see the movie.
