  1. This is such a great post with so much information. I related to pretty much everyones symptoms! I had a lot of the air hunger, eyes twitching, overall shortness of breath. I felt like I couldn't do anything because it was hard to breathe so I chose not to walk much! It became difficult to eat, I choked on my food a lot. Thankfully, a lot of these symptoms go away once you quit. I have really good mobility and flexibilty in my muscles/joints again, I'm still working on regaining physical strength. I need to come back and reread this post time to time because this is important stuff...I don't want to ever forget what pharmaceutical pills can do to you.
  2. Thanks! I did a rapid taper. Insomnia is the only serious symptom left, I heard it will go away within 12mths or so. @Greg
  3. Are you confused with making the counter or pasting it onto your profile? You go to "edit profile" and to the "edit signature" area and post the tickerfactory BB code in there.
  4. Having insomnia right now because of the benzo I also quit. 5mths out. couple of choice words; strong, tough, resiliant, capable.
  5. Me on Adderall. and when it wore off grumpyness...
  6. @grumpycat; thank you for sharing that video! I really liked it, It reminds me of trying to recreate the adderall honey moon phase but falling on my butt instead.
  7. I love this. Your letter can probably help someone who's reading and thinking of quitting too. I could very much relate to it too. Thanks for sharing and congrats on 51 days.
  8. Congrats on two months in! I just re-read your post about your cravings. You've gone from not getting past 10 days to making it to two months today and you haven't ran to the doctors to get a script....I think this is something worth celebrating.
  9. I think I may go out to dinner to celebrate!
  10. It all began for me when I had become friends with a bunch of successful college graduates. I began to compare myself to their success. I made the mistake of comparing my chapter 1 to their chapter 20. Anyway, I had read about Adderall helping with college studies and that is why I ran to to the doctor's to get my own prescription. At first I was only meant take it for studying but I noticed it helped with weight loss, so that was another motivator. I worked out so hard at the gym...and Adderall finally gave me that perfect bikini body I always wanted. Thing is, I was finally comfortable in a bikini but miserable. I couldn't even have fun at the beach on Adderall! So all these fun things I did, looking fantastic and slim and for what? Adderall had me in a grumpy mood and I couldn't just sit back, relax and enjoy myself. So I agree yes lots of insecurities and Adderall helped for a while on a bunch of them.
  11. This reminds me of the ADD forums I used to visit years ago! It's like you couldn't say anything negative about the drug, and if you did prepare people to defend the Adderall in every way possible. It was like Adderall could do no wrong! I think I started picking up on that and started treating it the same. I don't know what it is about this drug that can make you feel like you want to protect it. It's crazy.
  12. I believe I have ADD. I don't think I really believe that Adderall works differently with an ADD (vs) a Non-ADD type brain. From the stories I have read, I think Adderall seems to equally boost both types of people and negatively affect us just the same. Just my thoughts.
  13. Lilitex, I love those graphics. I sure do not miss any of those symptoms! My poor heart suffered so much, I'm sure it would thank me now if it could! lol
  14. I had cravings for Adderall for months after quitting, especially when I would be in situations I know the pills would help me because I felt so foggy at the time. I'd give it around 6mths to no longer crave, but everyone is different. I feel like you just have to reoccupy your mind and make sure all sources of getting the drug again are cut off. I think its also good to have a close friend or relative you can talk to when you feel like this, so they can remind you why its not a good idea to start again.
  15. Your posts are just inspiring to me. It sounds to me like you've had a successful couple years, maybe not where you would like to be, but it sounds like you got a lot of things done. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I look forward to your posts.
  16. Yes! I'm super happy for us. & doesn't it feel great to accomplish things without a pill? Here's to new beginnings...healthiness and happiness.
  17. Yay!! I'm super happy for you! Congratulations on 11mths and on losing 20lbs! Awesome!

I've noticed a huge change in your writing lately. You sound more optimistic, happier. I think you've come a long way from your first month! I just want to say congratulations, you're getting through this well and its only going to get better!
  19. I think its interesting that you can't really sit and watch television. I haven't really been able to watch much myself because I get easily distracted. Not too sure why, I mean watching tv shows would have helped me pass some time. No, new addictions here. But I have picked up some new hobbies and I do enjoy food a lot more. There are times I have to keep snacking to a minimum.
  20. @grumpycat I'm sure your parents are going to be thrilled to see the new you! My family also noticed my change of personality. I think they enjoyed having me back. I'm sure your parents will too. @alwaysawesome; colorado is so gorgeous. Have fun on your trip!
  21. I loved your post because it sounds like you went through so much, but here you are today & sober! You sound happy too, that's great! Congratulations on your 3weeks & welcome back to the boards! I loved your lists of pros, those are all very good reasons to stay sober. You're taking the time to enjoy life now.
  22. I am! & I am feeling great today! I'm so happy!! I feel freedom and I feel healthy. I love it! I think my energy has definately improved A LOT from my 9mths (when I first joined) to my 11mths today.
  23. @grumpycat; Seriously same here. I sat everyday for well...almost all day. I've had to work at making my body and my muscles strong again! Our body is thanking us! the first thing that had to go were those pills! Good post.
