  1. Welcome to the board. I can relate totally with what you are saying. My cycle for years was quit get behind at work refill etc. Quiting Adderall is a journey of a million baby steps. Getting through it day by day, minute by minute.
  2. I really need to finish this project I've been working on. I have about 15 days until it is due. I've been working on it . It just needs to come together now. I really wish I'd spent more time on it instead of fucking around.

  7. Hello and welcome. I quit in May 2013 also and can relate to everything you are saying. For me the depression has been the worst part of this lengthy recovery stage, I'm currently taking anti-d's. Focus , motivation etc are slow to return to me as well. Everyday I am more steadfast in my decision to stay quit. The small improvements i'm making are turning into big improvements. It takes time, but I know in time I will be better than ever. Welcome to the site.
  8. Like all things with quiting Adderall. Its not just the one thing that works but a combination of things that works. Thank you for all your ideas and welcome SweetC. Rebuilding ones focus stamina is a big milestone. The practice of regaining our focus is tricky one because, we took adderall to focus longer. We are relearning our old habits and some new ones. The old dog can learn new tricks. I realised I've been entirely too focused on focus. I can't focus if I'm focused on focus pocus. So I need to try an forget this for awhile and let my subconcious sort out this mess. I think this is positive sign that I'm recovering. This is a normal problem, most people wish they could improve their focus. This is why I did adderall in the 1st place.This phase of my recovery requires some grit,tenacity and hutspah. I'm using the podomo teqnique focus for 20min break for 10. I'm trying to complete 8 podomos per work session. I'm going to slowly dial up the concentration period to 3o mins. Like building muscle concentration is the same reps reps reps. On Adderall I did things in big massive pushes. Working for 10-15 hrs at a time then crashing for days. This got me in a lot of trouble. I need to use more project management teqniques. At any rate thanks for reading and posting this thread.
  9. @Ashley Exercise is definitely a big part of my recovery plan. I get really crazy without it, and definitely keeps my depression in check, helps me focus/unfocus. The only relief I've gotten from the various withdrawl symptoms were from exercise. I'm really excited to see the newly reno'd gym tomorrow and get into a routine again. I really love winter walks minus treacherous ice, so much better than sweaty summer walks. But I'm Canadian we love winter most of the time. Keep runnin!
  10. I wasted so much time doing the strangest things organizing, porn, pacing, re-organizing etc. It makes me wonder why I miss the productive person I used to be. I think I have more productive hours in the day now. I've learned to accept some imperfection, for example my sock drawer is in utter dis array. Adderall me would have spent hours rectifying the situation. Post adderall me couldn't give a flying fuck . I really skipped out on lot of birthday parties, concerts etc to organize etc. Lame,lame,lame. Anyways welcome to the board Dave. Pretty normal to be sleepy early in recovery (this period varies for everyone), don't fight it just figure out how to do the bare minimum to keep your apt, job etc while you are recovering. Eventually the sleepiness, foginess etc passes. Take it a day at a time.
  11. Hard to say when you will start "lovin" life again. I think that just happens, no point of looking at the calendar to find out when. I'm 7 months along and my motivation and vitality are starting to return. Little changes , become big changes. Just take care of your self and things will happen. This is a great time to do some goal setting and start working towards them.

  13. Long walk (about 8 miles I think), lots of snow and ice making outdoors a little dangerous for running. gym reopens tomorrow so I can run. Nice work Ashley!

  15. How do you guys focus? Just trying to figure out how to focus any tips, tricks etc would be helpful.
