  1. @FW - Not every day will be smooth sailing, the true measure of your resolve is shown during your darkest times. You will make it through the bad days; I am confident because you have shown so much strength and restraint so far. On your next good day you should call your dr. and tell him that you want to be cut off. Then you won't have the temptation when the feces hits the rotational cooling unit. @Lunax - keep up the good work, I'm glad to see your quit is successful this time around!
  2. Glad to see you back here; I was also thinking about you the other day when I was reading some older posts. Congratulations on 310 days! You give us all strength to persevere.
  3. Definitely a Canadian turkey, ours go Gobble Gobble. My one word status update - Purge - because there are some days I wish it were ok to purge myself of the idiots at work
  4. @FW - so at day 30 are you gonna blast Tub Thumping until your neighbors complain?
  5. Or perhaps it has something to do with the ADHD personality? We aren't exactly known for sticking to much of anything for long periods of time. SQUIRREL!
  6. It's tough to read large portions of anything post adderall. You are retraining your brain how to absorb information without stimulants. My method is to work at reading small chunks of things that are interesting to me and read a little more each time. Think of it like going to the gym, when you find an exercise that you like do you load up as much weight as possible or do you work up to higher weights? That being said, I'm not real strict on my program so I have trouble reading even long posts on this site. This is one of the most difficult facets of recovery for me. I don't envy your position where you are required to read large portions of archaic works; especially if you don't find it intellectually stimulating.
  7. TGIF - no more long drives this week! Maybe I should go golfing, in which case there will still be no more long drives this week.
  8. Glad to see another addition to the TDC!!! FW tomorrow is 2/3 of the battle won; keep fighting.
  9. ally, the feelings you expressed about the ups and downs sound pretty normal to me. It's a tough thing to go through, especially going through withdrawl for the 3rd time. Congratulations on 36 days! Things will get better.
  10. Thanks for the update, I'm glad to hear that things are progressing in a positive direction for you.
  11. WOOT only a couple days left Lunax, awesome!
  12. #1 - It sounds like it could be the right decision for you, the typical result of long term use is that the positive effects of the drug go away and you are only left with the negative effects. Only you can make the decision and it will only work if you are quitting for you. #2 - You can quit cold turkey or weaning; I have done it both ways. If you aren't abusing the drug and you have enough restraint weaning may be for you. If you decide to wean, are you strong enough to keep on track when things get difficult? Welcome to the forum and best of luck with whatever you choose! There is a 30 day challenge thread that can help with accountability if you decide to quit.
  13. Oh, and Happy Leif Erickson day! Hinga Dinga Durgen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YqehGlg6m8
  14. Hatin' - hatin' on Dell and VMWare today a little bit.
  15. You just blasted past the half way point! Keep on rockin' this.
  16. Exhausted - up since 5 driving to WI, finally back home
  17. It was brought to my attention that my original forum name could be tainting my effort to communicate how much I love, admire, respect, and want to encourage each an every one of you out there. So, in order to be more transparent, 1Bad88 has been retired and is now JustinW.
  18. Wow, what a situation you are in; you and your family will definitely be in my prayers. I did not experience an undiagnosed illness but I would say that a lot of us here did inherit some sort of digestive damage / distress due to using adderall. I quit cold turkey on my first go around and then I used the weaning method my second time. The difference between the two is that you spread the crash out over a month or two, but it is still unpleasant. I don't think that there is any difference in the journey once you are completely off the medication but YMMV. Start keeping a journal so you can read it for encouragement on the rough days. Best of luck with your Dr.'s and I hope they can find some answers for you.
  19. Don't let it lull you into a false sense of security; I hope that things continue to go well for you.
  20. If you really want to quit, here's your plan: Step #1 - read all the articles here about what to expect during the process Step #2 - develop your strategy based on your new found knowledge Step #3 - cut off your supply Step #4 - quit taking the pills Step #5 - grind it out
  21. Welcome to the forum! There is never a good time to quit, so there is no time like the present. The whole motivation thing is a tough nut to crack; it will take time to come back. Once I figure out the secret I'm not telling (just kidding). I hope you continue to do well. Congratulations on your decision to quit.
  22. I want to go to Disneyland... Congratulations to all three of you, thank you for sharing your journey!
